Doom recorded most of that over a three week period in my apartment on my MPC, using my records. He never slept for more than 3-4 hours at a time.

Learning a lot during my time here in Croatia. It’s amazing what sunshine, good food, swimming everyday, tons of homemade ice cream, and quality time spent with your significant other can do for ones soul.

MF Doom really passed away two months ago and we just found out today. Very on brand to the mystique that he held onto his entire career. Rest in peace. 😔

One of the coolest things about DOOM, at least for people a certain age, is that someone put you on. Someone tripped out on what he was doing. They they came and played it for you and you were like what the fucckkk?! And then you ran it back. And then you told someone else.

I know we are in a pandemic but we have to celebrate DOOM. Just playing the music isn’t good enough.

Doom was an example of not holding back, not filtering or dumbing down his intelligence & imagination, of being endlessly creative and recreating his own identity. What an example for us all as creatives.

This album served as a paradigm shift for me as well. RIP to the GOAT...

I always called him a living PROPHET because thats what he was to us. Me and Roc always said when KA rapped it was like he was delivering his words from the top of a mountain off a stone tablet. The truest man and artist i have ever been lucky enough to cross paths with.

Ka's work always had the shadow of death and hunger for immortality over each shoulder. "I made every song on Grief Pedigree like it was the last song I might ever record. I want people to rock my shit forever and ever, so I that’s why I flooded every line."

To see Ka depart just as he was enjoying late, well-deserved success is beyond terrible. He struggled in silence for so many years wanting to be heard, and finally found our ears. I hope he basked in the love he got. We've lost one of our most tremendous and uncompromising MCs.

Ka referenced his own death often in his music. Had an awareness of what he wanted to do in this lifetime, what he wanted to leave behind, his commitment to improving himself, his block, his city, his world, and hip hop. He lived his words. He will live on through them. RIP.
