Let me give you a little tour of some gorgeous ichthyosaurs here at the Naturkundemuseum Stuttgart

All specimens are around 180 million years old and come from the famous Holzmaden area.

This plant is listed as invasive in parts of its range (e.g., Hawaii, Caribbean) but engendered in other parts (e.g., parts of Australia)! These plants are absolute BEASTS! Just look at this fiddlehead! 2/

I’ve handled the review of > 1000 papers at @nature. Over time, you notice aspects of presentation on which reviewers tend to comment. In the interests of minimizing hassles during review, I offer the following suggestions (a bit targeted to climate papers).

Arctic glaciers release 45 billion tonnes of meltwater into the coastal ocean every year. This stimulates fjord productivity via the release of nutrients – but also exerts toxic effects through release of glacier-derived heavy metals.

A question to all tree researchers. Cienciala et al 2008 published a paper about “Biomass functions applicable to oak trees”. Are there similar studies and reliable formulas or scripts available to estimate biomass functions for Tilia and Betula growing in S Scandinavia?
