I am deeply shocked and saddened about the murder of Lokman Slim, one of Lebanon’s most important figures of free speech and intellectual freedom. What a huge loss in such critical times!

This is how I will remember Lokman Slim: a fine and fearless critical intellectual and activist for peace and reconciliation. It is a tragedy that such a man can be killed by brute and coward henchmen. RIP Luqman
