Terrible news from Cox’s Bazar. Another child has died. In another fire. I can’t imagine the pain of the family. Condolences to them as they mourn. Grateful to our UNICEF Bangladesh team & partners for swift action…mitigating trauma…and offering practical help. #ForEveryChild, safety

“Because of the water, I couldn't go to my learning centre.” When it floods, Tawhida, 10, Bangladesh, travels by boat to attend class. Her dream? Becoming a doctor. It’s time to climate-proof education, so children like Tawhida can realize their dreams. #EducationDay

Floods, heatwaves, pollution, cyclones. More than a climate crisis, these events cost children their education. New data from @Unicef shows Bangladesh in the eye of the storm. 33 million children lost learning days in ’24. Leaders must safeguard children. Read more👇🏼@PiaBritto

Tackling the climate crisis is everybody’s responsibility. We owe it to the next generation. Great to see UNICEF Bangladesh convening young people…listening to their bright ideas…and putting them at the heart of climate solutions. Together, we’re stronger #ForEveryChild

The opportunity to shape climate policies for children & young people, through the Nationally Determined Contributions, won’t happen for another 5yrs. That’s why the first ever NDC Youth Review could be a game changer for Bangladesh. This group 👇🏼are role models in the region.🩵

Clean water to drink. Vaccines that save lives. Classrooms in which to learn. Nourishment for the hungry and sick. UNICEF supports the world’s most vulnerable children. But we need to be fully funded to do so. We urge donors to continue their support for children 🙏

Today, @Rana4Unicef warned of a growing crisis for Rohingya children. “In February this year, admissions for severe acute malnutrition surged by over 27% compared to the same month last year.” We call on donors to support all vulnerable children. 🙏 unicef.org/press-releases…

What’s measured matters. If children are not counted in official data, they’re invisible in policy decisions that can lift their lives. Happy to represent UNICEF Bangladesh yesterday at the launch of the SDG Tracker to improve efficiency & strengthen coordination with the Government.

Thank you António Guterres for your heartfelt appeal to the international community for Rohingya children who have already been through too much want, deprivation and insecurity: “Please give us the emergency funds that are necessary to avoid this tragedy .”

Throughout UNICEF’s history, we have worked with our partners to uphold children’s rights, provide life-saving humanitarian aid, and advance children’s development and wellbeing. We’re not giving up — even in this tough funding climate. We’re here #ForEveryChild
