Look at these self-aware Tigers! They want to have a quiet reading workshop so they can have more independence with how they use their time. They set the goal, designed the strategies, and even asked for a moveable stick figure to track their progress. #FPSLeadingtheway

We’re going on a bear hunt! Today, Mr Deitz and Ms Pritchard took our students on a story hike on our nature trail. This weekend, families are welcome to follow the path and read the 18 parts of the “Bear Hunt” story together! Happy long weekend! #FPSLeadingtheway

Third grade readers are putting on many reading miles as they select just-right books, set page goals and persist in completing books, too. As disciplined thinkers (and readers!) Tigers are working hard to demonstrate focus, flexibility, and persistence. 🍎📕🍎📕

In PE and art, students learn together. Tigers read the book Leaf Man with Mrs B-F, then collected nature art materials while hiking on our nature trail. Then, Tigers used their materials to make leaf creations! These Tigers are disciplined thinkers learning to show creativity!

These global citizens planted a tea garden when they were in kindergarten. Today, as first graders, they are harvesting it and making tea to soothe the weary voices of their teachers. Tigers are compassionate and caring! #FPSLeadingtheway

It was a whirlwind week assisting ENG 100 with their next unit. Talking about books with kids is truly the best job ever. I loved watching teachers share their favorite books and push readers to find a text they truly love. ♥️📚Lauren Gallucci FHS English

Our music teacher, Ms. Foret, is also a proud service member in the National Guard. She put together a very special Veterans Day assembly for our students and families and bought this beautiful wreath, donated by Jillybeans, to Town Hall to honor all Farmington veterans. 🇺🇸🇺🇸

It was a great day at West District School as our third grade Tigers met with officers from Farmington and New Britain in conjunction with their mystery reading unit. Students learned about the importance of jotting notes, following suspects’ clues and working with red herrings!
