Edinburgh based charity Families Outside is calling for 'The Help With Prison Visit Scheme' to be updated after finding that some families are travelling up to 11 hours to visit a loved one in prison.

It's becoming too expensive for families to increase the number of visits they make to see a loved one in prison so video calls are replacing physical visits which shouldn’t be the case. More must be done to support families to maintain meaningful contact.
