One last push from Fahad AlKhalfan ! Coronary artery disease is surprisingly NEGATIVELY associated with AAA in > 2000 patients. Just like diabetes. Protective?? 🤔 And they are additive! #ACC24

So proud of our thrombosis fellow Fahad AlKhalfan this year, winning the Bernadine Healy Research Fellowship Award for his PhD program. Most unusually, he already has two papers related to his PhD published a month before he starts! Watch out… Here he comes. 🚆

New in Am J Med: AAA growth is slower in patients with extra-aortic atherosclerosis—mainly due to use of cardiovascular risk-reducing meds (aspirin, statins, etc.). But untreated PAD = faster growth. doi.org/10.1016/j.amjm… @2scottish Cleveland Clinic Vascular Medicine

The Cleveland Clinic vascular medicine alumni event was a roaring success, as always. Lifetime membership for past trainees, great to meet some potential recruits. #VSS2025 @svm_tweets 🩸
