This is excruciatingly bad. Angela Rayner is so far out of her depth in this interview with Sir Trevor Phillips that she requires a salvage boat to dredge her.

150 000 care worker visas resulted in just 21 000 vacancies being filled. Either foreign care workers are displacing British workers or foreign workers are not remaining in care work. Whichever is correct, it is clearly untrue that the sector will fall over without more visas.

🧵In light of Rupert Lowe's weird obsession with banning signs and services in foreign languages, here's a thread of English words that we wouldn't have without foreign languages. Starting with a word from Bengali 😅!

Dan Tomlinson MP Be careful, that is the high-water mark! It's before Reeves jobs taxes and after the panic over Trump Tariffs, that never occurred. In fact, the UK and China have deals on trade Its unemployment rising & the high government cost of borrowing that will take us down. #Peston

A reminder that we had a reception hub in Rwanda, ready and waiting and fully paid for. Starmer, in a fit of Leftie virtue-signalling, scrapped it and wrote off the money. Now he is scrambling around trying to find an alternative destination. Clown. thetimes.com/uk/politics/ar…

Speaking as an Irishman, I’m pleased that Ireland have failed to qualify for the Eurovision. The combination of them trying to force Israel out of this year’s contest, coupled with sending the below monstrosity to represent them last year, shames Ireland.

These must be the worst ‘favourability’ ratings for any PM less than a year into the job in living memory. So bad there might be no way back. Support is even plummeting among the third of those who voted Labour last July.

The EU re set plans will not boost UK growth. They will do nothing to tackle the jobs tax, the high energy prices and the shortage of homes. Any EU energy agreement with high carbon taxes would make things worse.

This is bigger than gender, this is open defiance to a Supreme Court ruling, given the case was about female representation on public boards, the circumstances here are almost perfectly comparable. Notice how stubbornly embedded this ideology is across left and right.
