9. FTC's rule banning noncompetes was set to go into effect on September 4. But several business groups sued FTC to block the rule, and a judge in the Northern District of Texas recently said that FTC cannot enforce the rule.

10. Litigation is ongoing and FTC is considering next steps. While the Northern District of Texas said FTC lacks authority to issue the rule, the Eastern District of Pennsylvania has preliminarily said FTC does have authority. The Middle District of Florida is also reviewing it.
