We are in significant need of more research into treatment of #fearofrecurrence after cancer - including individual case studies to drive larger trials. Great to see these kinds of papers published. FORwards research researchgate.net/publication/32…

This paper from Simon Rogers & Gerry Humphris (link.springer.com/article/10.100…) shows that #cancer #fearofrecurrence overlaps with, but is often distinct from general anxiety, highlighting the need to screen for #FCR separately & reports on a single item suitable for this purpose #FORWARDS

Emotional talk and staff responses in weekly radiographer reviews of patients treated for breast cancer is linked to recurrence fears 2 months following treatment. New observational study report. see rdcu.be/8icn St Andrews HealthPsy School of Medicine FORwards research Gözde Özakıncı

Claire Paterson 💙 Gerry Humphris @11thQOL St Andrews HealthPsy School of Medicine FORwards research Gözde Özakıncı Interesting read! Well done. Working with ladies with high FCR following treatment it becomes apparent what their individual ‘trigger’ is. Out of interest have you looked at the diagnosis experience? Or patients previous experience with cancer?
