FORSAID just officially kicked-off! 🙌 Partners have gathered in Padua, 🇮🇹 to work on innovative #digital technologies aimed at detecting regulated #forestpests early on, surveying their occurrence, and providing essential information how to limit their spread and impacts!

🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 Participatory, multi-actor approach is a central component of the project! FORSAID will rely on stakeholders to identify barriers and opportunities for adoption of new #digital technologies for #forestpest monitoring 📡🪲

After lunch, we continue with the next work package, which is all about remote sensing! The key objective is the early detection of damage symptoms with a suite of #remotesensing methods, coupled with signal analysis using #AI to identify forest health anomalies! 🔬

Moving on to the next topic - the development of digital #technologies for ground detection and delimitation of regulated #pests responsible for alterations of tree #health! 🌳 As part of this work, we will adapt & optimise different automated trapping devices!🔧

Day 2 is starting with a hot topic - #citizenscience, which will be used as a tool to discover regulated #pests! 👥 FORSAID will engage citizens & stakeholders in co-creation of tailor-made projects that use digital #technologies for the detection of regulated species 🪲
