On 17th December 2023, we celebrated 6 years of teleconsultation services.Thank you @ooredoomaldives for enabling our reach across the country, and for helping us continue our work each year.We look forward to many more years of partnership in extending access to justice for all.

ANNOUNCEMENT

Family Legal Clinic will be taking a break from 24 December 2023 to 1 January 2024. We will resume services as normal on 2 January 2024.

We are grateful for the insightful experience at the Legal Aid Conference 2023 in New Delhi! We thank UK in Maldives 🇬🇧🇲🇻 for their support in providing this learning opportunity and UNDP Maldives for facilitating this experience to our team!

The theme for this year’s 16 days is “Unite! Invest to Prevent Violence Against Women and Girls!”
According to the domestic violence cases reported to the FPA between June 2012 and June 2022, 83% of victims were women and girls.

The 25th of November of every year marks the ‘International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women’, and the beginning of the international campaign for ’16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence'.

Did you know?

The Domestic Violence Prevention Act (DVPA) is gender neutral, and the protection provided by it is not restricted to any specific age group.
