By 2050, global water needs for #agriculture will surge.
To address this, FAO supports Water Resources Nigeria through a capacity-building workshop to promote drip irrigation systems, enabling efficient water management practices and intensified crop production.

Today the Fed Min of Agric/RD Minister Mohammad Mahmood Abubakar and I signed the FAO Nigeria Country Programming Framework 2023-2027 which seek to enhance assistance to the country for improved food systems and sustainable natural resources & climate management
In partnership with Fed Min of Agric/RD, park rangers & tour guides are trained on biosecurity, disease surveillance/reporting & risk communication funded by USAID/Nigeria as part of efforts to prevent spillover of pathogens from the wild at the human-wildlife-animal-environment interface.
The Crop Inputs Support program by FAO Nigeria has enabled numerous vulnerable households in Borno, Adamawa & Yobe to increase food production, significantly improving household #foodsecurity outcomes.
This is a crucial step in promoting food security & agricultural resilience.
