Big wins for the FIU Medicine team at the FIU Service & Recognition Awards! Sonia Benitez, senior associate dean for Finance and Administration, won the Presidential Excellence Award. Eduardo Mecias, of @FIUNeighborhoodHELP Outreach team, won the Service Excellence Award. 🏆🏆👏

M1 Audrey Petersen completed the #BostonMarathon2024 alongside her father, Dr. Jeff Petersen. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ To qualify, they completed the 2022 REVEL Big Bear Marathon in California. Despite living in different states, training for marathons helps keep this father-daughter duo connected.

M4s Brooke Schwartz and Oreoluwa Olorunlogbon are the winners of the 2024 Robert Kemper Award for Professionalism in Medicine presented by the Key Biscayne Community Foundation.
The award recognizes their dedication and compassion throughout their medical training. 👏👏👏

6-yr-old Jude and his mom, Maureen McCoy, were special guests at our Meet the Patient event today.
Jude's Type 1 Diabetes was undiagnosed until he was hospitalized with ketoacidosis. They aim to raise #T1Dawareness and the importance of listening to patients. Thx for coming! ♥️
