The full open-access article of our latest paper on transmission properties of 2D material thin films for terahertz applications is available here: rdcu.be/bJz39 This work is the product of our collaboration with ITMO University OLD PAGE Anna Baldycheva Centre for Metamaterial Research and Innovation Evgeniya Kovalska
The poster session IONS Exeter closes the technical part of the day. I'm sure everyone is looking forward to the reception tonight! The Optical Society now Optica #OSAAmbassador
I had a lot of fun presenting IONS Exeter this morning! Thanks to Dr Thomas Hird for the photos. The Optical Society now Optica @M2Lasers @ExUniOptPhotSoc #OSAAmbassador
Next up IONS Exeter is the lovely Dr Jessica Boland (she/her) talking all things Terahertz and nanomaterials. #Terahertz The Optical Society now Optica @ExUniOptPhotSoc
Now we have Dr. Giedre Archipovaite telling us all about her exciting work Science and Technology Facilities Council Vulcan laser facility. #IONSExeter
Gabrielle Thomas Really enjoyed your talk and the different perspective you brought on the academia/industry conversation!
To close the final session, we've had Jonte Hance (University of Bristol), V. Kaarthick Raja (Anna University, Chennai, India), and Jacob Bulmer (University of Bristol). Their talks covered counterfactual communication, analysis of all-optical circuits, and drive-noise tolerant optical switching.
Congratulations to the runner-up in the #IONSExeter best presentation competition Gavrielle Untracht. A well-deserved winner.
First prize for the #IONSExeter poster competition went to University of Exeter Centre for Metamaterial Research and Innovation researcher Emmanuele Gemo
Great to see lots of other The Optical Society now Optica student chapter representatives interested in hosting future #IONS conferences. Hopefully they've been inspired by #IONSExeter.
Thanks IONS Exeter for organising a fun and interesting conference #IONSExeter 📷 by patrickyard
Bravo Gavrielle Untracht from University of Surrey for winning #ionsexeter best presentation competition!
Our work looking at the properties of the nanodiamonds formed during the detonation of explosives has just been published in Nanoscale Research Letters. nanoscalereslett.springeropen.com/articles/10.11… These nanodiamonds have wide-ranging applications, particularly in bio-imaging inside the body.
Two and a half years of work, 364 days since submission, but finally my paper on the first observation of liquid crystals based on two-dimensional tungsten disulfide (and some ofthe applications) is published (Open Access) in Nanoscale. pubs.rsc.org/en/content/art… Centre for Metamaterial Research and Innovation
