Plant Repro Evo Lab
@evorepro
We are interested in the evolutionary processes shaping plant reproduction. We are hosted by the Dpt of Botany, Charles University in Prague (Czech Republic).

We launched the SCPB in Prague in 2022, a conference promoting plant students self-determination. Amazing students from Vienna BioCenter took it over for the second edition of Student Conference of Plant Biology 2024 #SCPB24, starting today! Mohammad Trezalka Budinsky Yu Cheng and Clément are there :)

Our new paper on polyploid pollination, led by Roswitha Schmickl and Clement Lafon-Placette: Polyploidy‐induced floral changes lead to unexpected pollinator behavior in Arabidopsis arenosa nsojournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/oi…

❓Can DNA methylation be target of natural selection? We explored this question in wild strawberry plants distributed across an altitudinal range, check our preprint below🍓⬇️ biorxiv.org/content/10.110… @LatzelV Plant Repro Evo Lab Population Ecology at IBOT Botanický ústav AV ČR/Institute of Botany CAS bioRxiv

It was a great workshop on how think ‘tuo fo eht xob’ , and to be more creative 💭Thank you Plant Repro Evo Lab !

Thank you Epicatch CA 19125 and Stéphane Maury for the invitation and great organization! Great pleasure to hear and discuss about epigenetics and evolution . And congrats Trezalka Budinsky for a great talk on imprinted genes and their networks!

Down for what might be the last retreat of the Plant Evo Repro Lab ever! 2 days of movement to strengthen our bonds facilitated by the amazing Theodora ! With Ömer İltaş Susnata Salony Mohammad Trezalka Budinsky Audrey Le Veve Vojta Cermak & Askin Nur Ozkan

We got a new preprint led by Susnata Salony in collaboration with @FilipKolar7 and @CloJosselin ! In here, we investigate why the strength of the triploid block is inconsistent across angiosperms and what consequences that bear for polyploid speciation biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

🚨How do the epigenome, genome, and environment interact in natural plant and animal populations? What are the evolutionary consequences of epigenomic variation? For this and more, check out our latest review, the fruit of a great collaboration! ⬇️⬇️ onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/ev…

I'm thrilled to share my first first-author paper!🚨Our latest study on Mimulus guttatus reveals how tetraploids coexist with diploids despite strong reproductive barriers. And a huge thanks to @CloJosselin, Mario Vallejo-Marin, and @FilipKolar7 for the amazing collaboration 👏

On the lookout for candidate genes under sexual selection in plants, out now! We investigated natural variation in sexual traits and gene expression between two populations of A. lyrata, one selfer and one outcrosser. Congratulations Ömer İltaş ! academic.oup.com/pcp/advance-ar…
