I often call Vegas “L.A.‘s backyard,” and this is why the Tropicana & Las Vegas played a huge part in my upbringing.

My dad was a boxing manager and we’d go to Vegas every month. I grew up with Vegas and considered it L.A.’s backyard.

In fact, the Runnin’ Rebs were my first favorite college hoops squad. And that loss to Duke hurt.

Nipsey Hussle was murdered March 13, 2019 in front of his store in Crenshaw.

Hussle was an inspiration not just in Los Angeles but throughout the world.
