I found out yesterday that this bird has been wintering near St. Dolay, Morbihan (56) and only 30 mins from my home . . . so obviously today a visit was in order ! It performed very well approaching to within 50m. Happy days 😊

Had a bit of fun photographing these swallows out of the Fair Isle Bird Observatory bar windows this afternoon as they perched on the fence and the patio between bouts of swooping around and investigating the building! They looked a little grumpy in the wind and the rain!

Great day out doing raptor nests. Another 2 Peregrines sites ringed in Cork as well as a Kestrel nest right in Cork City! But the most amazing find was amongst mostly corvid remains was the remains of a HOOPOE in one of the Peregrine nests!! National Parks and Wildlife Service BTO BirdWatch Ireland

Get Wild 🐦 🦋 🐝 🍃 Problem is the owners, they have an incredible sense of entitlement that their cat has the right to roam. It does not, just like dogs they shouldn't get total free reign of outdoor spaces including urban gardens. Way too many cats and dogs these days. Sadly.
