As Nicola Sturgeon relentlessly promotes her memoir, the book featuring the work of these 34 women was removed from view by the National Library of Scotland because it was deemed “harmful” and a risk to the Library’s reputation. Frankly, this is Sturgeon’s legacy. Censorship.

in a sane world, the national librarian would be sacked before she had the chance to resign. this is, as these things always are, indefensible.

As there is a lot of interest in the National Library story, we are sharing the FoIs we have, tidied up just to put them into date order, with notes to guide readers through, and some additional redaction of personal data. ethelwrites.com/censorship-the…

The Frontline This issue is one of the most moving things I have ever read. It brought me to tears - Afghan women writing of bright hopes and dreams crushed by a regime cruel beyond words, and yet still they reach out to other women and girls and keep the flame of hope alive. Such courage.

We are quoted in this report on further developments related to the National Library of Scotland's treatment of The Women Who Wouldn't Wheesht. Donor ‘shocked’ as national library excludes gender-critical book thetimes.com/article/8c144b…
