the saddest part about Trump’s death is that he will die peacefully of old age on the warmest bed in the fanciest house surrounded by his loved ones and his goons after spending his entire life committing every sin in the book unpunished and that will be it.

I sound like a crazy conspiracy theorist when I say the government is using ai to make ppl complacent and dumber to control them easier but that’s genuinely where we’re at in society rn

Writers like Dan Brown and Andy Weir, who write ugly and clumsy prose at the sentence level, are sometimes extremely engaging storytellers in ways that transcend their technical deficiencies. “Project: Hail Mary” is a story about a lonely astronaut who undertakes a one-way

we are such a grotesque, obscene, bloodthirsty country. children's bodies here and abroad forever fueling American exceptionalism and "faith." reading this made me feel physically ill.

What's ironic is that this is literally the point of society. I love the apocryphal quote from Margaret Mead that the first sign of civilization was finding a healed human femur bone, bc a broken femur is a death sentence in the natural world

Trump is simultaneously making it too expensive to drive and too dangerous to fly. Restricting people’s movement is straight out of the dictator’s playbook. Open your eyes.

Audiobooks are great for seasoned readers (I would be bored senseless rocking my toddler to sleep every night without them!) but the idea of teens relying on them is jarring. I retain info from audiobooks fairly well but I can tell I’m missing out. And I have a master’s degree.

You can debate “separating the art from the artist,” in an epistemological sense, til the cows come home, but please know that by supporting anything Rowling touches, you’re funding dangerous political campaigns that align with views and methods of Nazism: mjhnyc.org/blog/transgend…

I keep posting bc it makes me unbelievably sad how tainted something that was such a big part of my childhood, my teenage years *and* my fandom experience has been. I grew up with Harry. But I'm an adult now, and I won't choose nostalgia over my support for the trans community.
