I am so excited about our new paper published today in Global Change Biology! We show that despite the long-term decline in #coralreef growth in the Florida Keys, #coralrestoration provides hope for a better future. doi.org/10.1111/gcb.16… @tacourtne🧵 1/n
Great news from the The Florida Aquarium! The critically endangered Elkhorn Coral (Acropora palmata) has spawned under their care! This might seem like a small step, but the more we know about coral reproduction, the greater our chances to save them! cnn.com/2022/09/04/us/…
just in time for application season! coming to Bulletin ESA very soon, we outline what grad school is, how to apply to it, what to look for in advisors & more!! pls share this w/ those interested in grad school & add it to your lab resources!! preprint: ecoevorxiv.org/e5umr
Our study on coral heat tolerance is out now in Global Change Biology! We looked at how heat tolerance varies among coral reefs and species across a large seascape. Marine heatwaves played a big role in heat tolerance potential. Link to paper here: doi.org/10.1111/gcb.16…
Our new paper paper in Global Change Biology biology is out. We show that positive interactions between corals and common damselfishes can help corals resist bleaching as the oceans heat up. Learn more here - onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/gc…
Thank you Katharyn Boyer for the chance to visit SF State Estuary&OceanScienceCtr this week and give a seminar! What a special place - I thoroughly enjoyed meeting great people doing cool research.
