Why 'growth pays for growth' is a complete fallacy: decades of fiscally unsustainable urban planning (sprawl) helped drive massive infrastructure deficits, that we are now trying to partially recoup through astronomical taxes on new homes, which in turn makes it hard to build.

People should be as angry about the housing tax as they are about the carbon tax:

Guys I misread the Caledon $12.9B estimate.

They claimed it was for only 1/3 of the 35,000 houses. Bringing the total estimated cost to $1.1M/household.

Absolutely bonkers nonsense.

And some MPPs are quoting this value as matter of fact.
