I am thankful for the mother figures who poured love into me, but this Mother’s Day, I am also thinking about the mothers who lost their babies to militarism, police and other forms of state violence.

This Mother’s Day my heart is with the moms and kids of Gaza.

Thankfully, I was blessed to have four mother figures who protected me, taught me, cooked for me (and taught me how to cook) and loved me. I am forever grateful and everything I am, is because I was loved by them.

I’ve said it before and I’m doing to say it again: Indigenous people don’t burn their native lands. Indigenous people don’t destroy ancestral tree farms. Indigenous people don’t uproot plants. Colonial settlers do.

If you talkin about Cabral you gotta talk about Titina Silá. Right there with him on the field for African struggle and was assassinated when she was attending his funeral. Highlight the importance of the revolutionary African women. The struggle is for all to contribute to.

Resistance should always be the response to repression.

Im all for folks developing consciousness and radicalizing in real time, which can only be done through experience and study (praxis)… but some lessons we don’t have to keep learning.
