The County Government of Mombasa has today added a fleet of ten new 15 tonne trucks to enhance timely clearance of solid waste by the Department of Environment, Solid Waste Management and Energy within Mombasa County.

I urge all Mombasa residents to exercise responsibility and discipline in waste disposal so as to continue maintaining better standards of city hygiene.

This afternoon I officially launched the Makutano-Kitaruni road in Nyali Sub-County. The construction of the 1.2KM cabro standard road will also include drainage and street lighting.

The Makutano-Kitaruni 1.2KM cabro standard road in Nyali Sub-county is aimed at decongesting the New Nyali Road and as well facilitate fast and smooth access to markets and essential services.

I am deeply saddened by the passing on of my Environment Chief Officer the late Mr. Francis Kombe. I have lost a committed and selfless Chief Officer. My condolences to his family, friends and the people of Mombasa. May the Almighty God rest his soul in eternal peace.

The great County of Mombasa played host to the Law Society of Kenya Annual Conference. In line with this year’s theme dubbed 'An Audit of the Constitution,” I urged the legal fraternity to continue having this timely and crucial discourse to further propel our country forward.

Indeed there existed a funding gap for infrastructure development and other service sectors for the large cities from the onset of devolution. It is through this initiative that we look to achieve sustainable funding for our cities moving into the future.

I applaud Law Society of Kenya’s choice of choosing Mombasa County as the venue of your esteemed conference and wish you all the best in your engagements during your stay in our beautiful City. May your deliberations continue shaping the trajectory of this nation's future.
