As the Henley Regatta continues, we’ve been speed-checking boats between Mapledurham & Caversham locks with a laser detector. Among others, we stopped a vessel in the area renowned for persistent speeding and loud music. We found his boat was unregistered – we’ve issued a notice.

Yesterday the Navigation Enforcement team were carrying out Registration Enforcement checks on the Thames between Mapledurham & Caversham lock. Seven vessels were served with Enforcement Notices. if it’s on the Thames it needs a registration. gov.uk/government/col…

Officers patrolled West Oxfordshire last night. This van was seized under the Environmental Protection Act as it was full of waste & the driver had no waste licences despite advertising a waste business. The driver has been reported to the Environment Agency for a decision.

Last week we took part in a multi-partnership day of action stopping and checking waste carrying vehicles with Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency , Kent Police Rural and SwaleBoroughCouncil. Vehicle and driver offences were identified, and two vehicles were seized as a result.
