As I get older I learn more and more how timing lucky leads to huge impacts on quality of life & financial outcomes. Gotta try your hardest regardless. But I think the lesson is that a lot of financial success comes down to good luck.

So thankful for great educational content on R. Luckily, for "BI" / data analysis stuff you don't crazy advanced stats, so I feel Im getting up to speed quickly. Will compile useful code snippets to help myself & others and share soon!

Feeling kind of silly learning some of these basics but I really want to understand the assumptions of these basic statistical tests, and prop.test() in R uses chai squared test and I need to know its assumptions about "expecteds", this is how you calc them...

Last thing to figure out for tonight is normality tests in R, then hoping to get done a very simple project looking at binary breakout signals, just to showcase some of the R methods!

Apparently the shapiro wilk test for normality can't be trusted if the distribution has more than 5000 values. Im not sure what to do in that case. yes you can do a quantile plot to visually assess, but ultimately, it would be helpful to have a pvalue. Ack!

Somehow my previous post was deleted. But this was a fun test of simple rolling averages on ETFs. When you use a lagged, ensemble signal, we see basically 0 predictive value. This was an average of binary signals involving 5, 10...25 day SMAs. Not surprising!

Having a rough time with MySQL Workbench. For some reason I am not able to import a csv file. My server is on. I made a new schema. Right click, data import wizard. Then I get this error. what's going on?
