Excited to present this paper at ENS Lyon tomorrow. Lyon is ancient but feels vibrant. What impressed me the most is how public space remains alive in the city, like this temporary outdoor theater, set up in a Roman amphitheater, with FREE performances almost every night. Chapeau!

Fantastic to see my joint work with Paul Maneuvrier-Hervieu on historical social conflict is now officially out in American Political Science Review! If you are interested in the story behind the paper, I made a rather long thread few months ago: x.com/CedricChambru/… Data: github.com/hiscod/hiscod-…

Very excited to attend the workshop on Cities and the Wealth of Nations organized by my colleagues Thilo Huning and Matthias Flückiger at Economics at York. Per F. Andersson will present our work on the role of aqueducts in the process of cultural assimilation in the Roman Empire.

Coming back home from a 2-day economic history workshop in Louvain-la-Neuve, full of insightful presentations. A big shout-out to David de la Croix, paula gobbi and Sandra de Pleijt for putting on a great event, and special thanks to all the attendees for very useful comments!
