Keep your eyes peeled! Someone spotted a North Atlantic right whale skim feeding at the surface just off Long Pond, Conception Bay on 1 Nov. Lots of copepods in the area. New England Aquarium IDed her as #1408 , "Freckles", born in 2013 and never before recorded in Canada.

While conducting research on the South Coast of Newfoundland with DFO_NL, Marine Institute, Memorial University personnel just discovered a 70m shipwreck south of Francois. It looks to be a trawler with the fish holds exposed. Any help in identifying this wreck would be appreciated.

An incredibly rich area of Leiopathes and the densest field of Anthomastus ever observed in the Mediterranean. The near-pristine nature of Cabliers FRA never stops surprising! Today the last camera deployment to map the distribution of soft corals in Funk Island Deep marine refuge in Newfoundland! It's been a crazy 5 months, and all this would not be possible without the expertise and skills of the team based at Marine Institute, Memorial University
