Our CEO Helen Milner sat down with the The New Statesman to talk UK Gov's role in fixing the digital divide. ✅ The policy they're getting right: assisted digital (but it doesn't go far enough). ❌ What they should scrap: internet tax. Read the interview: bit.ly/48U0zSA

Yesterday, HM Revenue & Customs announced a 6 month helpline closure, encouraging people to go online first. We're glad they've put these plans on hold. HMRC have since issued an update saying they'll ensure everyone’s needs are met - including those who are digitally excluded. (1/3)

Yesterday's shocking stats on absolute poverty levels in the UK - rises in child poverty and working age poverty - are context for 1 in 4 households with children being below the Minimum Digital Living Standard. Being below MDLS is likely to make it harder to exit poverty.

We want to send our support to the communities and vital local resources like Spellow Hub Library who will be rebuilding their communities, and picking up the pieces with those targeted by the appalling violent racist attacks over the weekend. We stand in solidarity with you.
