Gonna say something petty that I’ll delete later: I’m having a hard time seeing users who constantly insult something I love celebrating their turn. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth to see them sharing excitement when they actively shamed me and my fellow shippers for ours.

These individuals celebrated every perceived “loss” of our season, screamed joyfully when they perceived it to be over, insulted the characters I care about and actors that portrayed them and the season we got and now I have to take the high road.

It’s not that I want to yuck their yum because I don’t. I like their yum too! But it’s frustrating that the respect didn’t go both ways. I know I will not insult their characters or ship like they did (and continue to do) with mine. But man, it’s hard with certain unkind people.

People should be allowed to be excited and love things. That extends to all parties here. But when I see the opportunity to be shitty and choose not to take it, it makes me feel like crap some days. Because I wish they’d done the same so that we could all celebrate together.

It IS helpful to me to remind myself that it’s certain users and not entire fandoms. But MAN do I want to be a bitch to those users. I want those users to be checked by their own people. I want people to be nicer in fan spaces that are meant to bring us joy.
