After being asked the umpteenth time at the end of an interview for quote approval, I figured I should put together an accessible doc for interviewees to understand what the process is like. Anyone got any feedback on it/would it be useful for others? docs.google.com/document/d/1Sc…

Nice coverage of our H1 analysis of living investment - we tracked £6.8bn in student, BTR and healthcare investment so far in 2022, of which over half was via £100m+ deals, with a number of notable deals from BTR investors targeting bigger schemes.

This revolving door really isn't great for the sector. Though intrigued to see who will step up to be the (checks notes) eighth housing minister in six years

The pound jumped 0.5% against the dollar, from $1.193 to a high of $1.199, as investors reacted positively to Boris Johnson’s expected resignation. ft.com/content/57dd3b…

Boris’ resignation saw the pound jump immediately, housebuilder stocks barely wavered (also Gove was also out the night before and had fractious relationships with the industry) and now here’s what you might expect from the market 👇

I think I've made the ultimate stop buying avocados chart. A deposit for a house is over two times the typical annual salary, up from half in 1996.

Shame to see Countryside drop the £20m Bardon MMC factory, as it focuses on cost cutting over longer term innovation. The housebuilder previously pledged to deliver half its housing (5,000 homes) using MMC, with 3,500 a year from the Bardon site. egi.co.uk/news/countrysi…

It’s a huge honour to be appointed Secretary of State @luhc. Delivering on Levelling Up for communities in all parts of our country, unlocking the homes we need and supporting the economic growth that is so central to Liz Truss’s Government is our mission - will give it my all.

London’s housing crisis is spreading according to SpareRoom data, with a record high 106,000 people looking for rooms, and only 15,000 rooms up for grabs, a record low. The squeeze represents one of the constraints holding back the UK economy. Bloomberg UK bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
