This is a 100% lie. There is no other word to describe it. Nobody ever said this was a « plausible scenario for Canada on the current path ». It’s a report by a group that specializes in hypothetical outside the box scenarios and that’s all it is. The desperation…

It’s pretty clear the major hindrance to a CPC victory was Poilievre himself—replacing him with a more palatale leader would probably lead to them crushing the Liberals during the next elections, as soon as Carney’s minority collapses.

I understand NPD partisans must find a way to fight back against strategic voting, but pretending like their voters just divided the vote and not straight up switched to the CPC in some of those ridings isn’t helpful to anybody.

I don’t think he’s particularly wrong on this, but he of course obscures *why* that’s the case and the Trump administration’s responsibility on that front.

After standing behind the PM for what was a purely political speech, the CDS has now also gone on CBC to explain/defend the announcement. I’m a bit baffled by this, to be honest—unsure why the govt decided to put her in that uncomfortable position.

🚨New editorial out with the CDA Institute! In its relationship with the US, Canada faces challenges, but they should not be conflated with Europe’s.

How far has military action set back Iran's nuclear program? Netanyahu says 2-3 years. JD Vance says "substantially." In POLITICO, I argue that Iran could build the bomb in a year. And it now has much stronger reasons to do so. (1/n)

In his latest op-ed Émile L.-D. argues that, amid growing doubts about U.S. commitments to #NATO, #Canada should strengthen its conventional defences to reduce strategic dependence on the United States. bit.ly/4edQ5BR

"Canada would be advised to shore up its conventional defences and its capacity to deter autonomously external threats. That is, in the end, the only true way it can alleviate its strategic dependence toward its southern neighbour." Émile L.-D. bit.ly/4edQ5BR

I too would remain anonymous while sharing I have the political instincts of a kumquat to the world. The reaction to Carney’s move has been unambiguously good but it seems some Liberal MPs remain stuck in the Trudeau era.

Quand le gouvernement se met à repartager Martineau et Facal pour justifier l’ingérence militante de sa ministre, on est pas mal au fond du baril. Qu’il affirme ensuite vouloir légiférer au nom de la « liberté académique » est proche de la novlangue.

All of this in the name of balancing the "operational" budget while the deficit continues to balloon… confused as to how they’ll achieve this without compromising their capacity to spend/procure.

who could’ve predicted the guy who’s mainly known for harassing elected officials in the streets would be a problematic leadership candidate for any national party and have wacky takes on a lot of things

In our latest Policy Forum Politique, we asked experts Charlotte Duval-Lantoine (she/her), Stéfanie von Hlatky, Philippe Lagassé, and Richard Shimooka for their thoughts. ras-nsa.ca/how-can-the-go…
