Over 1000 people w disability live in ACT social housing. At least 48 of these people – but potentially 100s – are eligible for specialist funding of up to $90k/year.

ACT Govt has failed to draw on ANY of that funding for at least 7 years🤦‍♂️

This is a worrying headline.

Canberra has the highest rate of startups in the country and a strong entrepreneurial ecosystem.

But we need to look for opportunities to make our local policy environment more conducive to the success of new businesses.

Stories like this make you wonder if the ACT’s Labor-Greens Government is ‘progressive’ in name only.

I’m hearing from community service providers & people doing it tough that ‘the most progressive government in the country’ is consistently failing those who most need our help.

Grateful to have been invited by innovationbay to represent @davidpocock in a panel discussion on the future of cities with a group of investors & entrepreneurs. We discussed tech development & adoption, Canberra as a model city of the future, AI regulation & procurement reform.

Heartbreaking to see the closure of this community gym that had been key to the health & wellbeing of these Canberra locals. Are we ready for a conversation about public health that goes beyond 'healthcare' & speaks to how we can foster a healthy society?
