On 19/6/24 Caroline Pickett photographed an adult Curlew Sandpiper at the Gann Estuary with black leg flag MAB. Took some detective work, but turns out she was ringed on 27/11/22 at Puthalam Saltpan - at the southern tip of India! Astonishing that it should end up in Pembs.

Canvasback, Abberton Some have commented on the tameness of this individual but in reality it is simply copying the current behaviour of some of the wild Pochard. A close look at the geographical distribution of UK/WP Canvasback records is much more concerning....

Many thanks to Bucktonbirder for organising a warm up talk by Lars Svensson at the Lodge this evening. A fascinating tour of Lars life and the development of the many projects that he has been involved in. If your going to Mig-fest you are in for a treat!
