Did you know it only takes a tiny gap for rodents to invade your home? Mice can squeeze through openings as small as a dime, and rats only need a hole the size of a quarter. Seal small openings around your home to prevent unwelcome guests. Keep pests away!

City offices and facilities are closed on Monday, September 1 for the Labor Day holiday. We will reopen with regular business hours on Tuesday, September 2.

It’s Rodeo and Fair week, so look for traffic updates near the fairgrounds, including temporary stop signs on Chestnut St. and some one-way streets. Expect to see increased pedestrian traffic around the fairgrounds. Please use caution when traveling in the area.

Be prepared for road closures on Saturday, August 30 for the Ellensburg Rodeo Parade. The parade kicks off at 9:30 a.m. Closures will begin at 7:15 a.m. Saturday. University Way, Alder, Pearl, Pine, 2nd & 5th will be closed for parade traffic. Please use alternate routes.

For the majority of Sept., a portion of Anderson Road will be closed for the installation of infrastructure and road improvements required for the Winco Distribution Center. Advantage Dirt will be doing the work from 9/8-9/29 and can be contacted at (509) 929-3240 for questions.

A portion of N. Walnut St. will be closed near E. Dean Nicholson Blvd. for electrical duct bank work as part of the CWU North Academic Complex project. The closure will be from 9/2 – 9/12, with the intent to reopen before classes start back up at CWU.
