Canada’s history is that of an extraordinarily privileged land. Et c’est l’histoire d’un pays qui a commis bien des erreurs. There are no perfect nations. No perfect people. The history of humanity is replete with abuse, exploitation, exclusion, conflict and destruction.

July 1st is a day of two stories in Canada. It is #CanadaDay, and we are proud to celebrate our nation. It is also #MemorialDay in #Newfoundland, to honour the ultimate sacrifice of Newfoundlanders in 1916 at #BeaumontHamel, as part of the Battle of the Somme. #LestWeForget

For Newfoundlanders, July 1st isn’t only Canada Day... it is also Memorial Day. A day where Newfoundland & Labrador remembers the ultimate sacrifice some 700 Newfoundlanders made on July 1st, 1916, at Beaumont Hamel, as part of the Battle of the Somme. Lest We forget.

Taxing Big Oil's profits is necessary to fund affordability measures Canadians need. If you agree, let our Green MP Mike Morrice know in the comments! Mike Morrice instagram.com/reel/C9fsssXIK…

Heartbreaking images from Jasper. I’m so extraordinarily mad at our collective inability to tackle this crisis. This is the world the pipelines, SUVs and spineless, oil-loving politicians of this world have built for us all.

Yep, you read that right. Our government spent $34 billion to expand the TMX pipeline. Divided by 40 million Canadians, that's about $850 per citizen. What would YOU do instead with $34 billion to build a better Canada?

Post Greenbelt scandal Ford is still pushing expensive sprawl paving over farmland so insiders can cash in. He is making the housing crisis worse refusing to legalize gentle density so we can build homes people can afford in communities they love. #onpoli thestar.com/politics/provi…
