“It is very tempting to take the side of the perpetrator. All the perpetrator asks is that the bystander do nothing. He appeals to the universal desire to see, hear, and speak no evil.1/2

Nonstop chaos is an intentional strategy of abusers. Ground yourself spiritually. Root yourself in your community. All is not lost. It’s not too late to breakout.

Some prefer you asleep, dormant, passive, and quiet. I’m glad to see you’re aware, awake, active, and engaged. Stay all the way alive. 🔥

The right ones will pray with you and dance with you - mourn with you and birth movements with you. The right ones reflect your sacredness back to you as you remind each other who you are.

Julie Roys Mid-America Reformed Seminary Thank you for reporting this. Please use the term “child sexual abuse material” instead of “child pornography.” 🙏 It’s an important distinction. rainn.org/news/what-chil…

I assure you it is a delight. Let’s keep joining our voices together to bring to the light what malignant social structures want hidden.

My mom is younger than Ruby Bridges. I learned fairly recently that boys hit her in the face for no reason during integration. We don't have to dwell on the past, but erasing it is wild. This isn't distant history. These folks are still alive.

Bitter people create roadblocks and hurdles. Elitism gives them a false sense of joy. Genuinely joyful people live with an open heart that rejoices in the advancement of humanity. We truly rise together.

People really will get more pissed off about a company changing a logo than when leaders in their denomination are exposed as sexual abusers. Absolutely incredible.

"The spiritual violence of clergy sexual abuse diminishes, and in some cases may even destroy a survivor’s capacities for religious faith." - Theresa Tobin I so appreciate this Dee Parsons column, recognizing the unique harms of sexual abuse perpetrated by clergy. ⬇️ #ChurchToo

Silence about suspected abuse may feel easier in the moment, but it shields offenders and leaves victims vulnerable. Speaking up is difficult—but it’s the only way to expose perpetrators and protect those at risk.

Hey Lecrae — while you’re talking about listening to fans, how about listening to the victims (many of us have been real fans over the years) of child sex abuse at Kanakuk Kamps? That’s the same org you’ve partnered with for over a decade. #Facts. Follow along Rolling Stone.🧵

Children do not experience abuse because they’re vulnerable. They experience abuse because a person made the choice to abuse them. The fact that kids are vulnerable should point to the fact that abusers are cowards. Stop confusing these narratives.
