ElectricSQL Theo - t3.gg The appeal of ElectricSQL is the ability to simply run the server, point it to a PostgreSQL database, select a table, and now itโs a live query This is very helpful assuming the team/company already have a backend and PostgreSQL running in production.
Here's my Local-First Conf talk introducing @tanstack DB, hexdocs.pm/phoenix_sync, syncconf.dev and arguing that Sync is the key to mainstream adoption of local-first: youtu.be/ia9FpY_Sw_4?siโฆ
Postgres running natively in Bolt ๐ฅ Great work by ElectricSQL team & pglite- this is huge!! Yโall wonโt need to spin up hosted databases for building soonโฆ ๐
Hereโs Sam Willis talking about the hard engineering behind pglite.dev and the future of the project and its implications for Postgres at PGConf.dev ๐ in Montreal last month.
I'm speaking about syncing Postgres into the client with ElectricSQL at the SF Bay Area Postgres users groups tomorrow (Tuesday 10th June). Online from noon PDT, live stream here: meetup.com/postgresql-1/eโฆ
The main obstacle to sync is it's a new black box. Is it reliable/fast enough to drive critical data flows? People rightfully have a db-level quality bar. If it seems like ElectricSQL has been quiet lately, it's because we're 100% focused on meeting this bar.
Excited to release a new starter! Sync-first, production-ready, and blazing fast - TANSTACK Start - TANSTACK DB for blazing fast client-side queries & optimistic mutations - ElectricSQL for real-time sync from PG - Better Auth - Drizzle ORM - Tailwind CSS - Hono OpenAPI
