It’s official, May 2019 now stands as the new all time record high El Dorado lake level. The previous record was July 1998 at 1347.31. Currently it’s at 1347.34 and rising. What is that I see on the horizon?… looks like thunderheads. David Dillner, City Manager @visiteldoradoks City of El Dorado KS
Surge-charged sewer...when more flow enters the sewer system than it can handle. Sump pumps can cause sewer backups, as well as increase wastewater treatment costs. Make sure your sump water goes to your yard and not the sewer system.David Dillner, City Manager City of El Dorado KS @visiteldoradoks
El Dorado lake update: 20,260 CFS inflow and elevation has risen to 1347.81, that’s almost 9 feet above normal pool level. We received another 3+ inches of rainfall today to add to the 4.6 inches earlier this week. Still 5 feet of storage space left.City of El Dorado KS David Dillner, City Manager
El Dorado Lake: A tranquil scene, this flooded vegetation is just across the road from the lush green of the auxiliary spillway where water will flow out of the lake if lake levels rise another 4 feet. Not to worry, 4’ is still a lot of storage space.City of El Dorado KS David Dillner, City Manager

These are the guys that keep your water flowing. A flawless, complex leak repair tonight, that we anticipated might take 3-4 hrs, took 1:45...they work like a NASCAR pit crew, I can’t say enough good things about El Dorado’s Water Distribution crew.David Dillner, City Manager @visiteldoradoks
Over 3 inches of rain today, so far. Flows into El Dorado Lake are at 12,820 ft.³/second. For some perspective, that is about 10 swimming pools every second. No worries though, we are only 1 foot above conservation pool, so plenty of storage space left. David Dillner, City Manager City of El Dorado KS
El Dorado lake inflow has climbed to nearly 20,000 ft.³/sec. More relatable, an Olympic size pool holds about 500,000 gallons, so the flow into El Dorado Lake would fill 20 Olympic pools per minute. The lake has come up 6 inches in the last 3 hours. David Dillner, City Manager City of El Dorado KS

We loved having Cub Scout troop 410 out for a family fishing day at the El Dorado Wetlands & Water Reclamation Facility. What better way to find some normalcy again, than in outdoor activities like fishing! David Dillner, City Manager City of El Dorado KS @visiteldoradoks
