How do we deploy more freshwater quality Ecological Forecasting Initiative-ing systems & use them to inform management? Check out this new analysis of the status of near-term iterative water forecasting in Global Change Biology by our EcoForecastVT team, led by Mary Lofton Dexter Howard @rquinnthomas (1/2)

Take-home: lots of lessons learned from water quantity forecasting that can advance water quality forecasting. Current systems are doing fairly well (we can 4cast water temp, oxygen, and algae up to 5 d ahead with reasonable accuracy) but LOTS more work to be done! 2/2
