Pregnant women are eligible for a free respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccine to protect their babies from serious lung infections. Our antenatal clinic team have vaccinated over 70 people so far. To book an appointment for the vaccine, please speak to your community midwife.

Kate Brintworth, NHS England’s Chief Midwifery Officer, highlights the importance of the RSV vaccine for pregnant women. RSV can cause lung infections like bronchiolitis. It makes it hard for newborns to breathe and causes 20,000 infants to need hospital care every year.
