A year after we planted these dunes in Pawleys Island, SC, we’re back to re-fertilize and check on their progress. Our nursery-grown sea oats and panicgrass are thriving and will continue to grow more lush after this fertilizer event.

A mix of 25,000 sea oats and bitter panicgrass from our nursery are being installed this week at Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park in Hollywood, FL. We grow the plants and also have a skilled labor force to install them.

Our nursery crew is carefully splitting smooth cordgrass from 50cc to 72cc size to be used on an upcoming project in Kings Bay, GA.

After a hurricane, it’s important to rebuild dunes to prevent erosion. Here, you can see our crew replanting the freshly-graded berms in St. Joseph Peninsula.

The frosted flatwoods salamander habitat in the Apalachicola National Forest was becoming overgrown, so our crews worked to selectively thin out the woody brush. This species of salamander is federally threatened, so removing excess foliage helps to enhance their ecosystem.

This is a great before-and-after shot of our recent treatment at Box R WMA in Franklin County! Our treatment focused on Japanese climbing fern, Chinese tallow, camphor tree, and bamboo.

Our nursery and ecosystem restoration staff have been working together this week to prep two full trailers of Egyptian paspalidium – over 30,000 plants! – for installation on Lake Kissimmee.

We had an extra attendee this morning at our tailgate meeting! Red rat snakes can inhabit a huge variety of disturbed habitats, including urbanized areas, and can be found in every county of Florida.

North American River Otters (Lutra canadensis) are well adapted to life in the water. Strong tails, webbed feet, and insulated fur allow them to thrive in local waterways. Don’t let these faces deceive you; they are voracious predators and have been known to take down alligators.
