Preliminary tests in February raised concerns that conventional guardrails may not withstand the impact of heavy electric vehicles. In a test by the University of Nebraska and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, a 4-ton EV pickup crashed into a guardrail at 60 mph, barely slowing down.
