We've had a visit from Rivacre Primary School to talk about what we do as firefighters to keep people safe. We showed the children the fire engine and equipment we use. We also talked to the class about Bonfire night and the do's and don'ts of using fireworks and sprinklers.

White Watch attended Parklands Primary School and spoke to lots of students during assembly regarding fire safety in their homes, then we got to discuss The Great Fire of London with a class and a KS2 fire safety talk to another. We still had time to show them our fire engine πŸš’

Christmas is just a few days away and your trees are up! but remember... heat and lack of water will dry out the tree very quickly, keep the tree stand filled with water which will help your tree from drying out and becoming more flammable. Keep your tree away from heat sources.

Keep fire safe with portable heaters: Use your heater on a flat surface, keep the heater away from anything flammable, buy new from trustworthy sellers, register your heater to keep up to date with product recalls and safety info. NEVER cover or use your heater to dry clothing.

Its electrical fire safety week! Ensure young ones in the home are aware of the dangers electric can pose. NEVER charge laptops on carpets or beds as they will overheat and can cause fire! ALWAYS charge devices such as phones and tablets on a hard surface.

πŸš’ Blue Watch had a fantastic time visiting Cambridge Road Primary School! We spoke to a class about fire safety, watched some great videos, and took part in a fun quiz. Then, everyone got a chance to use the hose (almost soaking the teacher! πŸ˜‚)!
