Looking forward to showcasing the valuable work of British Gas Energy Trust at the Palace of Westminster. Such support is important especially during the cost of living crisis.
A pleasure to host Annie and Dan from Department for Energy Security and Net Zero + Tony from NW Net Zero Hub Liverpool City Region to share insights from our LEAD Demonstrator advice service, supporting greater take up of insulation and renewables in homes across Merseyside/Cheshire by making them "retrofit ready"
We're delighted to be at National Energy Action's 2025 national #fuelpovertyconf at Camp and Furnace in Liverpool. Looking forward to providing our local insights into the national issues. Adam Scorer is here opening the conference, setting out the opportunities and challenges ahead.
Final day of National Energy Action #fuelpovertyconf. Steve Rotheram says tackling fuel poverty is "a public health initiative" and requires trusted, local partners to advise, educate and support residents, so together we can make homes warmer, forever.
Excellent insights gained from a pioneering health initiative by Rhiannon and Lucy of Merseyside and Cheshire ICB National Energy Action #fuelpoverty
At our #FuelPovertyConf, we heard harrowing stories about the realities of living in fuel poverty. Our session with Sirio Strategies, Cadent Foundation, CitizensAdvice and Energy Projects Plus is available to watch here. buff.ly/41fV1AY
Session 1: "Putting tenants and residents at the core" will always resonate well with us. We heard some best practice for social landlords to move away from cold-calling, and assuming tenants are home all day, to involving them in planning design Inside Housing #WarmHomesSummit
Session 2: We learned there's a financial case to be made for social landlords to integrate sustainability goals within compulsory safety upgrades, which sounds like a win-win, and likely applicable for private landlords, and home-owners too. Inside Housing #WarmHomesSummit
Session 3: "Partnership" is the key, to unlocking economies of scale, to "do more with less." We were delighted to hear government is working to extend, and increase the value of the Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund, that has only launched today. Inside Housing #WarmHomesSummit
Breakout 1: We're discussing the many problems with existing EPCs, and how smart monitoring tools can let landlords better design improvements to help provide cheaper bills in more energy efficient homes for their tenants. Inside Housing #WarmHomesSummit
Breakout 2: We're discussing damp & mould, and how to keep the resident at the heart of finding mutually beneficial solutions. Different people use homes differently - we need to build on this fact, and avoid any us/them confrontation. Inside Housing #WarmHomesSummit
It's always great to hear from the Minister for Energy Consumers, Miatta Fahnbulleh MP. There are multiple challenges to be overcome, as we move towards Net Zero, and we need to see these as opportunities to work together, better. Inside Housing #WarmHomesSummit
We were delighted to present our "Making Homes Warmer, Forever" presentation today, at National Energy Action's Northwest Fuel Poverty Forum. We introduced our "Warm Homes Healthy Futures" project, supporting patients with health conditions made worse by cold homes.
Our Dom Griffiths couldn't resist a #LondonEyeSelfie during last night's National Energy Action reception at the House of Lords. Thank you for the invitation. We're delighted to be part of this national network of organisations, passionate about delivering solutions to end fuel poverty.
