Mrs. Lange's 2nd graders performed a mini play in library today where the actors were chosen randomly by the draw of popsicle sticks. They did a great job!

It's Popcorn Friday! Thank you PTA for all your work in supporting activities for our families, students, and staff. Our staff is very appreciative of your support during teacher appreciation week as well.

Awards were presented at last night's PTA meeting. The Golden Acorn is presented to a community volunteer for their dedication and service to kids. The Outstanding Educator Award is for staff who have made significant contributions to the educational outcomes of all students.

A quick reminder that there is no school on Monday, May 27th, in observance of Memorial Day.

Mrs. McWilliams' class celebrated their hard work and completion of the SBA by having a hallway parade. Way to go!!

Today our 4th/5th grade Robo Hawks did a demo for the 3rd graders to show them how fun robotics club is and all that they have learned. We heard all about building the robots, doing the coding, then the programming, plus the competition they go to each year.

The Summer Learning Fair is coming up on June 13, from 5:30-6:30 PM, in the Hawthorne cafeteria.  Families/students can pick up learning packets, get information from community organizations about summer activities, and enjoy a cool treat.

This past week in Garden club students learned about bees from two local Beekeepers, Ms. Eli and Ms. Heidi. Students sampled honey, tried on bee suits, learned about bee habitats and tried to identify the queen bee from a live hive. It was great fun!

Come and celebrate this new beautiful structure at Wiggums Hollow on June 13th at 4pm with the rest of the Delta neighborhood. What a wonderful asset to our community!

After wrapping up a unit on golf in PE, our 5th graders headed to Legion Park to practice their skills on a real golf course!

My how these Hawks have grown! It was amazing to have these former students come back and walk our halls as they celebrate their high school graduation. Congrats and best wishes as they soar into their future.

Another group of Hawks is ready to leave the nest. They're moving up! Congratulations 5th graders.

Garden Club had a final celebration and recognition of their work, as well as contributions from the community, such as the Audubon Society, EPS Foundation, Kay Fantin, Brian Zinke, Virginia Blain, Nancy Flowers, Eli Ocheltree and Heidi Goodgion. Thanks for your support!

Fabulous field day frivolity!

We will miss our Hawks during the break, but we are wishing everyone a safe, relaxing, and restful summer.

Summer learning sessions have begun! Each Wednesday until 8/14, from 11:00-12:00, students can come and work on i-Ready, ILE, and enjoy a free book and snack.Students who participate often will have a chance to win a prize!

JumpStart with our incoming 3rd and 4th graders was a success this week! Summer programing to support a successful launch into the new school year.

Our office is open from 8a-3p. Come register your kindergarteners for the new school year!

If you missed Gear Up, come to the school any day, between now and the first day to pick up your uniform and backpack from 9-11a or 2-3p, Monday-Friday.
