My favorite part of this story is actually the follow up from CT. Because of free calls, local organizers have been able to educate and train incarcerated people to organize. “We’re having conversations with people that we would otherwise have no access to,” said James Jeter.
Happening now: Activists just left Rep. Andy Harris, MD for their first takeover of 3 key GOP Representatives to demand that Congress does not agree to spending levels below the levels set out in the Fiscal Responsibility Act. Follow along ⤵️
Action NC Rep. Chip Roy Press Office At our final office — Kevin McCarthy. Don't be fooled: Cutting $234M from substance abuse programs hurts working-class and poor Americans grappling with the opioid crisis. This isn't saving; it's sabotaging. Healthcare is a RIGHT. Say NO to the #GOPBudget. #HealthcareForAll
Members from our affiliate, Building Freedom Ohio, sat down with Congressman Mike Carey to discuss what he’s done for #VotingRights and #AffordableHousing and what’s left to do to make sure housing and voting resources are readily accessible to felony-impacted folks.
Our President Jeanna Kenney- also a member & Advocacy chair for Building Freedom Ohio Cleveland Chapter had the opportunity to be a part of @CPDAction Hill Champion program. Here's a few pics of a meeting with Carey For Congress Jeanna & #BFO Advocacy Committee in DC Ohio Organizing Collaborative
“In Alaska, I’m not sure if you’re aware, but in some parts a jug of milk costs more than $7” -Canyon, member of Stand Up Alaska (S'Up AK) and Hill Champion
“Unlike you Congress, many of us don’t have the same fortunes or luxuries that you do. These small budget cuts may seem like nothing to you, but it’s a great deal to all of us.” -Jeanna, member of Ohio Organizing Collaborative and Hill Champion
Look at our President Jeanna Kenney standing in solidarity with Rep. Pramila Jayapal and @CPDAction woth Popular Democracy💥 😁
Every year, corporations struggle to properly recognize Juneteenth. This year, demand that your favorite brands take a stand against prison slavery by endorsing the Abolition Amendment. Big shout out to Ben & Jerry's for being the first! Endtheexception.com/corporate
