What are in the water treatment residuals from harmful algal bloom-affected areas? We profiled microbiome, resistome, toxic cyanobacteria, and cyanotoxins. Published in March 2020. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

👏Molly Mills at ESGP-Environmental Public Health received a seed grant from the CFAES Research Competitive Grant Program. She will study the role of periphyton and fish gut microbiome in antibiotic resistance amplification in urban waterways using Nanopore sequencing. Congrats!

We applied a metagenomic approach in studying urban storm water for microbiome and antibiotic resistance profiles. Yikes, lots of fecal bacterial contamination from deer! sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
