Several of our PhDs presented posters in today's poster session at #gfoe2023. Posters about modeling habitat potential Sven Rubanschi, effects of plant chemistry on insects Lina Marcela, and the effects of mowing on insect communities (Robert Künast). Nice first conference day.
Trends of insect #biodiversity in Central Europe and their #conservation implications - great talk by Eva Katharina Engelhardt at #gfoe23. Read more here: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.11… and here: conbio.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.11…
How can we use ecoregions to boost occurrence information for taxa that are not well covered in biogeographical databases? Stefan Pinkert tells us how in his cool talk at #gfoe23. Read more here: d197for5662m48.cloudfront.net/documents/publ…
Global Change Ecology Group @Uni_WUE on the #gfoe2023 with talk's by Christian Hof Eva Katharina Engelhardt Christian Zehner and a poster by Jan Kalusche
Very happy and proud about this prize from Stadt.Freising for my Master thesis in the light of insect decline, protected areas and land use! Thanks to Terrestrial Ecology, data from Bayerisches Landesamt für Umwelt and the amazing Team and supervision by Global Change Ecology Group @Uni_WUE !!! bayklif TU München
Today I gave my first course/lecture in methods of field zoology at the University of Würzburg. Breeding birds and flight behaviour of raptors from 6 am to 2 pm. Thanks to the super motivated students, Eva Katharina Engelhardt and Global Change Ecology Group @Uni_WUE.
At Universität Würzburg #UniWürzburg we have a new international #MSc study program on #conservation biology and applied #ecology. Please RT & forward widely to potentially interested students! biologie.uni-wuerzburg.de/masterbioscien…
On Monday I finally finished my PhD! Now on to new adventures Global Change Ecology Group Universität Würzburg #UniWürzburg @Uni_WUE
Second excursion in the field zoology course: today the students learnt how to look at biotopes from the perspective of animals. E.g. reproduction or resting sites, feeding habitats and plants for insects... Big thanks to Global Change Ecology Group @Uni_WUE, Eva Katharina Engelhardt and the students.
Thanks for an excellent conference of the GfÖ AK Macroecology GfÖ! Alex Zizka Alexander Zizka and his team did a great job hosting us in Marburg. Our Universität Würzburg #UniWürzburg team presented new results on distributions & diversity of insects & birds at regional, continental & global scales.
After settling into our new office space, our scientific exchange is becoming more and more vibrant. Key element is our weekly Global Change Ecology Group @Uni_WUE seminar where our colleagues present new ideas and current projects. Some impressions:
Today Eva Katharina Engelhardt presents recent species distribution modelling work on two closely related butterfly species
Last week Jan Kalusche talked about global patterns of phylogenetic and functional diversity of island birds
Let's #moth! Herzliche Einladung zur Nacht der Motten - am Di, 23.07.2024, von 21 bis 23 Uhr, an der Mensateria auf dem Campus Hubland der Universität Würzburg #UniWürzburg.
