Former HS Top 100 recruit Darius Carr really showcased his ability to play on both sides of the ball. Carr is one of the top Juco guards in the country & he made that clear today at King of Kings Juco Camp. He’s coming off an explosive year of 22 PPG shooting 36.9% from 3.

Compton College is going to have a really good year considering they have Elijah Evans rostered. Evans is a 6’5 athletic guard that can guard multiple positions & really score it in bunches. Will be one of the top Juco guards out West. MM+ Prospect.

Leyton McGovern is a Top 25 Juco player in the country. He has High Major size right now at 6’4 with his frame. Definitely was the talk amongst majority of the D1 coaches in the stands today. Elite at the rim & can really finish with contact. Plays both guard positions.

Tyreek Dean definitely helped his case today as he put a ton of schools on notice. A true 6’5 with big time frame. Elite athleticism! Plays with motor & makes winning plays on both ends. One of the better guards out West. Had a ton of highlight plays.

Mason Hunt is one of the more offensively polished players today at camp. His ability to make catch & shoot 3s & attack close outs was easy to see. He’s 6’6 with an efficient shot & isn’t scared to mix it up at the rim. Hunt is being recruited by several Division 1 schools.

Jamaal Phatty was another standout today at camp. Phatty has a good combination of elite athleticism & high IQ. Production + Projection! Will have a really big year for his College of the Sequoias squad. Will continue to get better playing under a really good HC in Dallas Jensen.

Terrence Hampton coming off nearly averaging a double-double at East LA last season. Hampton is a big body 6’9 post with real skill & touch around the rim. Can score from both back to the basket & face ups. One of the best rebounders in the country. Top 50 player in the country.

With the amount of money these players are getting in college now there’s absolutely no way as a parent that I’ll allow you to baby my son in HS. Parents should be demanding their child’s grassroots coach to coach their son as hard as they can to get as good as they can.

This myth of adults telling kids “just go Mid Major so you can play right away.” I don’t think people understand how hard it is to play right away no matter the level. That MM roster is filled with guys who just came from High Majors & had to go down a level for whatever reason.
